Anchoring for floating solar parks
Dyneema® anchoring systems for solar parks on water, supplied and spliced on-site.
Floating solar parks on lakes and ponds are held in place by a system of anchor lines that must withstand wind, wave action and current, without adding load to the buoyancy of the system. Dyneema® is ideally suited for this: strong, light and buoyant.
From the field
BijRinus recently supplied and spliced the complete anchoring for a floating solar park, on-site. DM20 Dyneema was used — a construction that holds up well to the varying loads that floating systems experience.
Dyneema® anchor lines

On-site splicing
Anchor lines are spliced to size, directly at the solar park’s location. More about on-site splicing.

Why Dyneema® for floating solar parks
A floating solar park moves continuously with wind and waves, meaning the anchoring must absorb variable loads without failing or negatively affecting the system’s buoyancy. Steel wire rope would quickly become too heavy and too rigid for this; Dyneema® combines high strength with a weight that doesn’t add extra load to the system.
Because every solar park is built differently, the anchoring isn’t supplied off the shelf as standard — the lines are spliced to size on-site, matched to the layout and anchor points of the specific project. To mark off the work area during installation, we also supply marker lines and marker buoys.
