For businesses and individuals — fast, correct, and with certificate.
We are a certified inspection station and inspect lifejackets for businesses and individuals. For commercial shipping we recommend having this done annually, and every 2 years for recreational boating.

Replaced parts are invoiced afterwards based on actual cost. Businesses receive an invoice plus certificate, private individuals a payment request.

Service intervals for inflatable vests
- SOLAS double-chamber vests: every year
- ISO single-chamber vests: at least every 2 years
- The bobbin/cartridge/dissolving pill: at least every 2 years for recreational use, annually for professional/intensive use
The last inspection carried out is stated on the certificate/info label inside the vest; the next inspection date is on the inspection sticker on the outside. The vest must be inspected at an authorised station, within a month either side of the next inspection date.
Why regular inspection matters
A lifejacket that looks fine on the outside isn’t necessarily still reliable on the inside. The inflation mechanism of an automatic vest contains components that can lose their function over time, such as the dissolving pill and the gas cylinder. During an inspection, not only is the vest itself checked, but also whether these components are still within their expiry date.
For commercial shipping, a valid inspection certificate is often also part of the statutory requirements on board. By having the inspection done at BijRinus, you immediately receive the accompanying certificate, so it’s on hand right away during an inspection. Need extra vests temporarily for a project? We rent out inspected 275N lifejackets.
