Dyneema® rope: lighter than steel, just as strong.
Heavy lift slings, Dyneema® SK78, connecting lines, softshackles and tow cables — new from stock or used from our surplus trade.
Dyneema® is a synthetic fibre made from ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE / HMPE) that, at the same diameter, can be up to fifteen times stronger than steel wire rope, while weighing only a fraction as much. For merchant shipping, inland shipping, fishing and offshore work, this means less physical strain when lifting and towing, no corrosion, and a rope that floats — a major advantage when working overboard.
BijRinus supplies Dyneema® SK78 and HMPE products both new and used. New material comes with full specifications and certification; used material is assessed for wear and remaining breaking strength before being offered for sale again.
Besides ready-made products such as heavy lift slings, softshackles and tow cables, BijRinus also splices Dyneema® to size — in the shop in Harlingen or on-site aboard your vessel. Not sure about the condition of your current lines? We also carry out rope inspections with a full report and tensile test.

Used Dyneema®
Besides new material, we have specialised for years in recycling and reusing Dyneema®, particularly in diameters from 18 mm to 44 mm. Thanks to our extensive stock, these can be delivered quickly. The cables are tested and checked for defects; where necessary, they are cut back and re-spliced. Thicker diameters are widely used in towing and pushing operations and as winch cable in inland shipping; the very thickest sizes serve as towing or salvage cable in coastal and merchant shipping. Used Dyneema is very competitively priced and still offers a high breaking strength.
For temporary projects, Dyneema towlines are also available for rental. Not sure which size you need? Take a look at our guide on measuring rope correctly.
BijRinus also supplies Dyneema® through its specialised sister brand BR Ropes, active since 2016 in high-grade towlines for offshore, inland shipping, towing and pushing operations, and merchant and coastal shipping.
